Approach
This approach is suitable for anyone who wants to shape their life with more awareness and freedom. The reason can be very diverse: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship problems, illness, or curiosity.
In our earliest childhood, we learn to adapt to the situation in which we grow up. In that adaptation, which is necessary to survive literally and figuratively, we unconsciously withdraw much of our sensitivity and uniqueness. Over the years, we build our life; we go to school, work, build relationships, have children, etc.
But unconsciously we still live from the perspective of that old situation. That is no longer applicable. Actually, we need an ‘update.’ After all, we are no longer dependent on our educators. But usually we let ourselves be carried away by ‘the course of life.’ That goes well, until it no longer works. Illness, divorce, burn-out, grief, or simply old age, force us to pause. And in such vulnerable periods, old traumas often come to the surface… What to do?
With gentleness and respect we look at how we’ve done so far. So we are not focused on correction or self-reproach. We take everything into consideration and then see the love and wisdom that was and sometimes still is in the adaptation. Only then can we be fully present. Now the wisdom unfolds and we can see how we want to proceed.
In an intake interview, we investigate whether this way of working suits you. If so, we will set out a line for a number of sessions. What is the goal? What common thread do we want in our conversations? During the sessions, we work with conversation, meditation, and awareness exercises. If necessary, we can also work with EMDR trauma treatment. EMDR is also useful for early childhood traumas.
Online sessions are always possible, also for EMDR.
