Marianne Boot (1963)
Until 2023, I was a BIG registered healthcare psychologist; currently I'm a NIP psychologist.
I have been working in mental healthcare since 1982.
As a psychologist, I initially worked in various psychiatric centers, and since 1999, I have been working independently in my own practice.
Inspiration
Working as a psychologist, I learned a lot about people and what motivates them. In my approach to clients, I find it important to work from a spiritual vision, so that the person is seen as more than just his/her complaint, and guidance can also be provided from this broader perspective.
Therefore, after studying Psychology at Utrecht University, I also completed the training to become a Being-oriented counselor at the School for Being-oriented Guidance in Utrecht. In addition, I attended many postgraduate courses in various fields.
I also completed EMDR training for trauma treatment, which, when necessary, can be well integrated with the vision from which I work.
I learned a great deal from my time with the Lakota Indians in the Western United States. The natural relationship with all that lives, celebrating it in a very earthly way, has deeply touched me.
However, my main inspiration has been Buddhism for a very long time. I receive teachings from several reliable Tibetan Buddhist teachers.
